Susan Boyle Performs “Wild Horses” On America’s Got Talent

susan boyleSusan Boyle hit the American television airwaves for the first time live tonight, and she did not disappoint!

The rumors we reported last week of Susan Boyle appearing on America’s Got Talent were indeed true!  Ms. Boyle fulfilled yet another of her dreams by performing in the United States of America for the first time, and it was only fitting it would be on the American counterpart of the site that launched her to international stardom.

Appearing before a cheering crowd, and Piers Morgan, one of her biggest supporters, Ms. Boyle performed the Rolling Stones classic “Wild Horses” as it will appear on her debut album due in November, I Dreamed A Dream.  If this is a hint to how the rest of her album is going to sound, it seems like it will be an interesting take on some modern classics coupled with her powerful voice.

Without further ado, here is the video from her appearance tonight on the show, and we couldn’t be happier with how she sounded, how the audience reacted and also that she looked healthy & rested!

Susan Boyle Taken To Hospital For Observation

susan boyleSusan Boyle has been hospitalized under England’s Mental Health Act.

After Susan Boyle’s final performance on Britain’s Got Talent, it seems things weren’t as smooth as her final comments would lead you to believe.  On Sunday evening, the producers of the television series summoned police to her hotel room, saying that she was acting “strange”.  She was examined by a police doctor under the Mental Health Act, and was found to have suffered an ‘emotional breakdown”.  She has been taken to a hospital for rest and relaxation.

Everyone from Prime Minister Gordon Brown to Ms. Boyle’s family is concerned for her.  Speaking on GMTV this morning, PM Gordon Brown said:

I hope Susan Boyle is OK because she is a really, really nice person and I think she will do well.  I spoke to Simon Cowell last night and to Piers Morgan and wanted to be sure that she was OK.

There is no word on when Ms. Boyle may be released from the hospital, or what her plans will be immediately after getting out. According to family that has spoken with the press, she is still interested in performing with some of her idols, such as Elaine Page, but there is no word if that is even in the works at this time.

We wish Ms. Boyle the speediest recoveries, and we hope she will do whatever is best for her own well being once she is released.

Susan Boyle In Semi-Final Round 1 Of Britain’s Got Talent

susan boyleAt long last, it’s time for Susan Boyle’s second appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.

It’s hard to believe the world was introduced to Susan Boyle a mere six weeks ago, but it’s true.  Now it’s time for the semi-final rounds of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, and that means that Ms. Boyle is back on the stage to fight for the prize of performing for the Queen.

She performed “Memories” from the famous musical Cats, and except for a very slight warble in the opening lyrics, it was a spectacular rendition that not only got a standing ovation from the audience, but also from all three judges… yes, even Simon Cowell.

Since this is where the public enters in to the voting process, it would be shocking if she did not make it past this round and into the finals.  Since those of us here in the United States have not seen anywhere near all of her competition, it is hard to judge just how stiff the competition will be, but judging from this performance, they had better be pretty good.

Susan Boyle Sings “My Heart Will Go On” On Larry King Live

susan boyleLast night Susan Boyle appeared on Larry King Live and wowed us with yet another song.

The tour of US talk shows seems never ending for Ms. Boyle right now, but at least she gets to do all of them from the comfort of her own home!  This time around it was on Larry King Live, and they also brought on Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan to talk about her at the same time.

Some of the stuff with Piers was fascinating, such as him actually apologizing for not treating her with more respect when she first came out on the stage.  It seemed very sincere and heartfelt.  He explained that they had already had a long day with some really horrible acts, and he admitted that he thought she was going to be one of the joke acts that gets sent out to them just to make them suffer.  It was a very sincere, and genuine sounding apology, which Ms. Boyle gladly accepted.  He also asked her out for dinner in London, to which she rather enthusiastically said “yes” to.

There are also some hints from Mr. Morgan that Simon Cowell has indeed signed Ms. Boyle to his record label, though he never spells it out completely.

The only thing about the interview that troubled me some was when Larry King asked what in her life would change due to this, she replied that she would no longer be lonely.  I really, really hope she has some solid, grounded friends around her that will help make sure no one takes advantage of her and her considerable talent.

We have posted both halves of the interview below for you, but if you just want to get to her singing “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, it is in the second video at approximately the 2:25 mark.

47-Year-Old Susan Boyle Wows The Judges On Britain’s Got Talent

susan boyleSusan Boyle, a 47-year-old woman from West Lothian in Scotland, is sweeping the Internet by storm with her singing abilities!

April 11th was the premiere episode of Britain’s Got Talent, and even with only one episode aired, people are already sure that a certain Ms.  Susan Boyle could stand to win the whole thing.  However, that certainly wasn’t their attitude when she first walked out on to the stage.

In the behind-the-scenes footage before she took the stage, we learned that Ms. Boyle lives alone with her cat Pebbles, and that she has never even been kissed.  Once she finally hit the stage, Ms. Boyle awkwardly introduced herself to the three judges, Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, and stated that she aspired to sing like the great Elaine Page.  After some eye-rolling from audience members, and even some obvious skepticism from the judges, she began to sing, and you can see the results below.
